End of Year Awards

We had our end of year awards yesterday. At Ballindangan N.S. we believe in promoting and recognising all aspects of our pupils’ achievements throughout the year. Our awards ranged from fabulous friend to maths magician. Well done to all!

Player Of The Year

We have a champion in our midst. Darragh has become Park United Player Of The Year. We are not surprised here in Ballindangan N.S as he is very talented and dedicated to the sport. Well done Darragh. We are all very proud of you!! Maith thú!

Tennis Lesson

Today we enjoyed a tennis lesson with coach Bryan Stewart. He started off showing us a few skills and then we were so good we progressed on to actual matches. We all had great fun!!

Tech Week

As part of tech week we decided to head into the porta cabin and dismantle an old PC to have a look at its components. A lot of elbow grease was required but everyone found it very interesting.

Wonderful Worms

We have a big addition to our classroom in the form of worms. As part of our Sow and Grow experience, we have put together a wormery. The pupils helped put the compost, sand and gravel into the container. Then we went to search for worms down by the pitch. We learned a lot of […]

Aistear

This week’s theme was based on ‘ The Hospital’. Pupils made name tags , plasticine patients, pretended to be doctor’s and patients, used water and various utensils to make medicine and even constructed a hospital from bricks. Even though there were some very serious injuries, everybody enjoyed this theme. Our future is in great hands!!

Sow & Grow Competition

 
We are taking part in a competition called Sow & Grow. The competition is sponsored by Innocent Ireland and is operated in association with GIY Ireland. The project encourages children to grow their own vegetables to help them better understand where their food comes from.

After learning about different important figures of the 1916 rising, the children were asked to imagine themselves as one of these people and to write diary entries from their viewpoints describing the events of 1916 or its aftermath.
